Advanced Plate Production Line: Continuous Casting – Rolling – Punching – Pasting Technology

At SONGLI GROUP, we employ a fully integrated plate production line featuring the advanced Continuous Casting – Rolling – Punching – Pasting process. This state-of-the-art system ensures high-quality battery grid production, significantly enhancing the performance, reliability, and lifespan of our lead-acid batteries.

Process Overview

1. Continuous Casting
We begin by melting refined lead ingots and casting them into narrow and thick lead strips. This process ensures excellent consistency in lead material, forming a solid foundation for high-performance battery grids.

2. Continuous Rolling

The casted lead strip is then passed through precision rolling mills to form wider and thinner lead strips. This rolling process significantly improves material uniformity, eliminates internal air holes commonly seen in gravity casting, and increases grid density—an essential factor in battery durability.

3. Continuous Punching

Next, the thin lead strips undergo continuous punching to form the desired grid mesh structure in roll form. The punching precision allows for uniform current-conducting paths and optimized active material retention.

4. Continuous Pasting

Finally, the punched grids are coated with a specially formulated lead paste. After pasting, the grids are cut and placed into a controlled curing chamber, ensuring optimal bonding, strength, and electrochemical performance.

Technical Advantages over Gravity Casting

Compared to traditional gravity-cast grids, our continuous casting and rolling technology offers multiple performance and quality advantages:

  • Denser Metallurgical Structure: Enhanced resistance to corrosion and oxidation.

  • Uniform Grid Bars: Consistent thickness and alignment improve conductivity and strength.

  • Superior Corrosion Resistance: Especially important for long-life applications.

  • Improved Conductivity: More uniform current flow reduces internal resistance.

  • Better Paste Retention: Leads to more stable electrochemical reactions.

  • Increased Structural Stability: Enhances battery durability under deep cycling or heavy load.

Enhancing Battery Performance

The use of continuous casting and rolling technology directly contributes to improved battery performance across key indicators:

  • Higher Capacity Retention

  • Lower Internal Resistance

  • Longer Service Life

  • Better Performance in Harsh Environments

At SONGLI GROUP, we are committed to using cutting-edge production techniques to deliver high-efficiency, high-reliability battery products for global energy storage and starting applications.
