Battery Plate Testing for YT4 – TCS Battery Reports New Progress

TCS Battery, a professional battery plate manufacturer, has released a progress update on its YT4 punched battery plate testing project. This program focuses on improving the performance, durability, and consistency of lead acid battery plates used in motorcycle batteries, ensuring reliable power for global distributors and OEMs.

Battery Plate Testing Process – Current Progress

  • Negative Plate Experiment
Experimental negative plates have completed the curing process and are ready for inspection.

  • Positive Plate Experiment
Positive plates have also been removed from the curing chamber and sent for physical and chemical analysis.

  • Quality Indicators & Screening

    • Positive plate weight: 18.8g ± 0.3g

    • Negative plate weight: 14.4g ± 0.3g
A total of 100 pieces of each plate type have been screened for weight consistency.

  • Laboratory Testing
All samples have been delivered to the chemical lab for parameter testing. After passing inspection, they will be sent to the battery technology department for assembly and electrochemical performance evaluation.

  • Interface Testing
Special attention is being given to the bonding interface between grid plate and active material, which is critical for conductivity and cycle life.

Why Choose Punched Grid Plates?

Punched grid plates are widely used in modern lead acid battery manufacturing because they offer several advantages over traditional cast plates:

  • Higher Consistency – uniform grid pattern and thickness

  • Better Conductivity – lower internal resistance, stronger starting power

  • Improved Adhesion – active material bonds more firmly, reducing shedding

  • Lightweight & Strong – optimized design reduces weight without sacrificing strength

  • Longer Cycle Life – better corrosion resistance extends service life

For YT4 motorcycle batteries, these benefits mean more reliable starting, longer service life, and fewer warranty claims.

TCS Battery’s Commitment to Quality

As a leading battery plate supplier, TCS Battery invests heavily in:

  • Precision punching and pasting lines for consistent production

  • Strict weight and alloy control to guarantee balanced performance

  • Advanced lab equipment to verify every batch before mass production

Next Steps

Once laboratory results confirm all parameters meet internal standards, the plates will be assembled into sample batteries for full internal testing, including cycle life and capacity retention. Only after passing all tests will the plates enter full-scale production.

FAQ – Battery Plate Technology

Q1: What is a battery plate?

A battery plate is the core component of a lead acid battery, made of a grid and active material, responsible for storing and releasing energy during charge and discharge.

Q2: What is the difference between punched grid plates and cast plates?
Punched grid plates are lighter, more uniform, and offer better conductivity and longer cycle life compared to traditional cast plates, which are heavier and less precise.

Q3: How to evaluate the quality of a battery plate?
Check for consistent weight, uniform grid pattern, strong adhesion between grid and paste, and compliance with international standards like CE, ISO, and UL.
